The Oceans and Wildlife Institute (OWI) was established to Advance Wildlife Resiliency throughout the United States and globally. OWI is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. OWI leads initiatives in workforce development, wildlife disaster response and training, wildlife rescues, applied translational wildlife research, policy advancement, and economic development.

Economic Development
The Texas State Aquarium, the largest in Texas and one of the top five in North America, is a vital educational, environmental, and economic resource. As South Texas’ most visited tourist attraction, the Aquarium has generated a $1.2 billion economic impact since 2014 and supports over 1,200 jobs annually.
